Corporate Community Engagement and Social Investment
Pact builds bridges between communities and companies, establishing mutually benefiticial relations that contribute to sustainable social development. Companies are engaging in multi-project, global partnerships that both influence corporate behavior and create opportunities for people to build better lives. Already, there are several examples of successful corporate community engagement happening in Africa, Asia and South America.
Microsoft in Indonesia
Pact worked with Microsoft in Indonesia to provide computer literacy training to street children. These children were trained in basic computer skills and assisted to develop a range of income generating activities.
Chevron in Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, and Angola
Pact and Chevron work together in several countries. In Myanmar, Pact and Chevron collaborate to empower communities to design and implement sustainable community-based programs to reduce the incidence of Tuberculosis, HIV, malaria, and other prevalent diseases.
In Cambodia and Indonesia, Pact is working with local NGOs and community groups to strengthen their ability to address Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
In Angola, Pact and Chevron partnered with USAID to provide microfinance to local entrepreneurs through an Angolan women's business association.
Pfizer in Cambodia
Pfizer and Pact Cambodia formed a partnership to address stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS. The partnership promotes better health care, provides support for people living with HIV, and strengthens coping mechanisms for AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in target communities.
