Where We Work Asia Cambodia

Pact has helped Cambodia to achieve a range of development outcomes in our many years partnering with local communities here, from improved health and governance to better economic opportunities for women.

Pact’s recently completed WE Act project supported young women entrepreneurs to reach their full potential and increase their civic engagement. With a focus on urban-based micro, small and medium businesses owned by women ages 18 to 30, the project addressed key challenges to their businesses through capacity development, network expansion, information sharing, access to finance and markets and more. We have also used our signature WORTH model to empower women entrepreneurs in Cambodia.

In the area of the environment, our recent work has supported Cambodia and the wider southeast Asia region to focus on sustainability. Through USAID Green Invest Asia, Pact supported countries to achieve sustainable landscape-related climate mitigation goals as submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The project catalyzed private sector finance to upscale and drive investments in agriculture, forestry and other land use toward low-emission, profitable business models.

Through the Sustainable Infrastructure Partnership, Pact worked with governments in the Lower Mekong region to build capacity for managing the impacts of environmental change. The program supported planners and policymakers in the use of technical and conceptual tools to better understand how pressures on land and water resources are affecting local populations.
