Child Labor, Mining
Madagascar Shines is a U.S. Department of Labor-funded project that aims to reduce child labor in the mica sector in Madagascar’s southern Anôsy region. As part of the launch, the project undertook a series of formative assessments to inform project strategies. Pact led the design and implementation of the assessments, which included: a mine site assessment, miner inventory, household survey, and mica stakeholder assessment. This technical brief provides the results and learnings of the assessments.
