Transparency in revenues from artisanal and small-scale mining of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold in Burundi

The majority of mineral extraction in Burundi is carried out by artisanal and small-scale mining. Tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold are the primary minerals mined and exported. This report provides a view of the importance of these minerals and the ASM sector to Burundi's economy, associated taxation and revenue challenges, and recommendations for improving transparency of production and revenues in the country.
